Founded in 1992 by Karen Hewitt, TCI and Frances Cowden, who specialized in investigations from the distaff perspective, Hewitt & Cowden now operates from two locations to better serve our Clients: Dallas/Fort Worth TX Metro area, and Huntsville/Houston TX area.

  Steve Tapper was named Manager and President of Hewitt & Cowden Investigations in May, 2012. A native of San Diego, CA, Steve has over 23-years. experience as a licensed Private investigator in California and Texas. He has an Associate's Degree in the Administration of Justice from Grossmont College, San Diego, and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Military Police Academy at Ft. McClelland, AL. He served four (4) years in the Military Police at Ft. Sill, OK. Steve has extensive business management background as well as a wealth of experience in surveillance, videotaping, domestic, criminal defense, child custody, insurance fraud, sexual and physical abuse, lost and missing persons, asset search and missing heirs. He is a member of Texas Association of Licensed Investigators. Steve is a faculty instructor in the Private Investigator Academy sponsored by University of North Texas Professional Development Institute, and is a very popular instructor on Private Investigations for Tarrant County Community College Senior Education Program. Steve manages the Dallas TX Fort Worth TX locations of Hewitt & Cowden Investigations, Inc.
